Spring sports in full swing; here's how to get tickets
Spring sports at Ballard County Schools move into full swing this week. We want everyone to come out and support our Bombers, so here are a couple of reminders to make the experience safe and enjoyable for all:  
RESCHEDULED: Orientation meeting for 2021-22 freshmen NOW will be held March 29
RESCHEDULED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST: To Monday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m.
BMHS is hosting a ninth grade orientation meeting for 2021-22 freshmen and their parents/guardians on Thursday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym at 3561 Paducah Road, Barlow. 
Meeting topics will include requirements for graduation and diploma options. Administrators also will share course offerings to help students choose a career path and available electives. Students are asked to bring their Chromebooks to the meeting. Most information will be completed electronically.

If turnout is an indication of excitement, Bomber Football has entered a new era. Over 40 players and potential players showed up for the introduction of longtime assistant coach LeToun Bledsoe as the new head coach for the program.
Bledsoe was an assistant varsity football coach for two years, and an assistant and head coach at middle school for eight. His 2014 middle school team won the divisional championship. Bledsoe also has been head track coach for five years, and a head middle school basketball coach for six years.

Ballard Memorial High School is hosting a dual credit information meeting on March 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at 3561 Paducah Road, Barlow. This meeting is for 2021-22 juniors, seniors, and their parents/guardians.   
Kindergarten registration set for March 26
Ballard County Elementary School will hold registration for students entering kindergarten this fall on March 26 from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the school at 3383 Paducah Road, Barlow.
Registration is by appointment only, and is for children who have not attended Ballard County Preschool, and who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2021.   
Students produce virtual tour of BOE offices
A couple of students in our high school multimedia class, Chloe Glisson and Morgan Blankenship, have put together a virtual tour of the new Board of Education offices. Take a look here!  
CDB donates $2,000 to BCS CDB donates $2,000 to BCS

Citizens Deposit Bank is celebrating over $10,000 donated to local schools through its Spirit Card Program in Carlisle, Ballard, or Hickman counties. District changing quarantine time for asymptomatic students
Ballard County Schools is changing from a 14-day to a 10-day quarantine for exposed but asymptomatic students, effective immediately. This change is in accordance with current CDC guidelines.  
Apply now for state rent, utility relief
Kentucky residents now may apply for relief for rent and/or utilities back as far as April 2020, as part of the state’s new eviction relief fund. The intention is to keep Kentucky renters housed, allow landlords to get substantial payment of back rent, and reduce the volume of eviction cases.

The Ballard County Board of Education office has moved to remodeled office space inside the Ballard County Career and Technical Center. The members used the new, larger board room for its Feb. 1 meeting.
Until this move, the board office had been located in the same converted private residence since 1972. Moving out of the old house was first discussed in the long range facility plan in 2015.
