An informational meeting for any Ballard County adult interested in low- or no-cost college and GED classes is set for Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Ballard County Career and Technical Center at 11 Vocational School Road, Barlow. Childcare will be provided at Ballard County Elementary School at no cost to those who preregister for the meeting.

Everyone who preregisters will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gas card provided by Ballard County Community Education (winner must be present at the meeting), and Ballard County Family Focus will provide pizza and drinks for meeting attendees.

 
Ballard County Adult Education now is offering GED classes at the Barlow City Library on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. The library is located in the City Hall Annex (old City Hall), behind the City Hall building at 139 N. Fourth St., Barlow. [...click for more]

After six annual bike rides, the Ballard County Wheels and Wings committee is ready to accept proposals for its first fitness grants. Up to $4,000 will be granted this year, with no minimum and a maximum of $2,000 per grant. The money is meant to be used on projects, events or venues in Ballard County that would improve fitness opportunities for the county’s citizens.
